Dr. Aswanth KP

I trained in general dentistry at Raja Rajeshwari Dental College in Bangalore, but the cases that stayed with me were the ones with frightened children and parents who had been told their kid was "too difficult" to treat. So I went on to do my MDS in paediatric and preventive dentistry at KSR Institute of Dental Science and Research in Tamil Nadu.

Since then I have only worked with children. I run Dr. Aswanth's Children's Speciality Dental Care at Pottammal Junction in Kozhikode, where we focus on early childhood caries, preventive care, paediatric zirconia crowns, airway and growth assessment in young kids, and conscious sedation for children who genuinely cannot sit through treatment awake. I am a member of the Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry.

At Smile Align I see children who need a paediatric dental opinion alongside their orthodontic care: missing or extra teeth, deep caries on baby molars, early-loss space management, and growth issues that are easier to fix at six than at sixteen. I try to keep visits short, honest, and as un-scary as possible.
